ISPL Code of Conduct

The ISPL organizing committee is committed to providing a harassment-free environment for everyone, regardless of gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, ethnicity, religion or other group identities. The committee seeks to provide an atmosphere of respect as we enjoy sharing our scientific work. Behaviors prohibited at all conference venues, including social events, include:

  • Harassment or intimidation based on race, religion, language, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, appearance, or other group status.
  • Sexual harassment or intimidation, including unwelcome sexual attention, stalking (physical or virtual), or unsolicited physical contact.
  • Yelling at or threatening conferees (verbally, physically, or virtually).

If you believe you have been harassed or that a harassment problem exists, you may contact any co-organizer or any member of the Local Organizing Committee, who will work to ensure that appropriate actions will be taken. Participants asked to stop hostile or harassing physical or virtual behavior by a co-organizer, member of the Local Organizing Committee, or any other ISPL participant are expected to comply immediately. 

Reports involving sexual misconduct will be directed to the Title IX Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which will determine and carry out the appropriate course of action, and may consult with and engage other UNL staff, leaders and legal counsel as appropriate. Reports of sexual misconduct can also be made directly to the Title IX office through their website or by emailing titleixcoordinator@unl.edu. If attendees believe that a crime is being or has been committed, they should contact the police by phoning “911”.
